Don’t be fooled by those offering what appear to be low fees for filing a patent application. Often you will be billed several hundred dollars for patent drawings as well as several thousand dollars for prosecuting the required office actions. You might even be charged handling fees to simply forward issue fees to the Patent Office. In the end you may be paying more than $6,000 in just legal fees. I flat fee all of my services and there are no hidden costs.

Patent Search and Opinion Letter

Utility Patent Fees

• $2900 flat fee includes preparation of mechanical and light electrical applications, this flat fee includes the required drawings, a flat fee for chemical, biological and computer related applications will be determined after free initial consultation

• $1000 single flat fee for all required responses to office actions up until a receipt of a final office action, billed upon receipt of a first office action
  government fees to be paid by client: currently $462 filing fee and $755 issue fee

Design Patent Fees

• $1000 flat fee, preparation of a design patent application, includes drawings

• $ -0- no fee for office actions, included in preparation fee
  .
• $500 flat fee, preparation of a design patent application, including drawings if the applicant is also filing a utility patent application

• Government fees to be paid by client: $230 filing fee and $430 issue fee

Trademark Fees

• $850 flat fee for the filing of an Actual Use application, includes the government fees and a federal database search

• $800 flat fee for filing an Intent to Use application, includes the government filing fees and a federal database search
  .
• $350 fee to file Actual Use Statement (when mark is used after originally filing an intent to use application)

• $750 state and federal database search

• $225 per hour to respond to any trademark actions, typically a trademark action response requires less than 2 hours
